Life Lessons: Just Say No To Laundry In The Morning

Over the weekend I learned a very valuable life lesson; never start your laundry until you've had at least one cup of coffee.  Skipping this step could cause you to forget to take your brand new iPhone out of your jeans before putting them in the washing machine.  Sadly I had to learn this lesson the hard way, and as a result I'm without a phone.  Below are a few photos that I was able to upload before its untimely death.

Life Lessons: The football addition

Great news Monday has come and gone and we are one day closer to the weekend.  The day has gone by so quickly that I didn't have time to think about how much I loath the day.  Rather then do my usual Moody Monday post I thought I would do a life lesson since I learned a VERY valuable lesson over the weekend.

What lesson might you ask??? Never again will I trust my boyfriend to be in charge/hold anything of importance.  I came to learn this lesson the hard way.

A few months ago we purchased tickets to the Niners vs Radiers game.  The seats were awesome, 50 yard line and 18 rows up from the field.   For those of you are not familiar football, those are exteremly good tickets (sitting with the family members of the players good) and they do not come cheap.

We left our house early, and in a bit of a rush, to get a few errands done before the game.   Brandon grabbed the tickets before we left and threw them in his back pockets.  In hindsight I should have asked for him to hand them over right there and then but I had yet to have any coffee so I wasn't thinking straight.

Once we arrived at Stanford to complete our last errand I asked Brandon for the tickets.  He went into his back pocket and pulled the contents out; money, credit cards, ID were all there but the tickets were MIA.   Somewhere along the way they had fallen out of his pocket . Sigh....a few hundred dollars down the drain and no football in our future.

On the bright side the weather was horrible and rained the majoirty of the first half of the game.  So rather then spending a ton of money to park, eat, and drink we had a relaxing and dry day watching the game from the comfort of our home.  Not what I had in mind but all in all not a bad day.

Life Lessons: The mini reunion addition

Mini weekend, and by weekend I mean one day, getaway to Sacramento was a success. There were a few less then glamorous highlights and thus a few lessons to be learned.

1.) Hire a personal driver.  Generally I avoid driving like the plague so one can image how thrilled I was to be stuck behind a wheel for up to 3 hours straight two days in a row.  The drive to there can be summed up by my very full bladder and road rage.  The drive back was slightly worse as I spent most of the time convincing myself that I was not going to have to stop on the side of the freeway to throw up.   Thankfully I made it home without losing my breakfast.  Next time I make a quick trip to the state capitol someone else is driving.

2.) Turns out there is an age where you’re  too old to take shots of tequila right before rushing out of the bar.   Perhaps it was the excitement of being around my college girlfriends, or the fact we were in a dive bar where mullets were the norm, but I was feeling a little crazy and took a few shots that night.  Shots are a big no no for me and from now on I will stick to a few beers and call it a night.

3.) And the last but not least no matter how old you are you are NEVER to old to make balloon animals/anatomical body parts.

Life Lessons

1.) 28 feels the same as 27 with one exception... hangovers are more harsh.  This girl had a little too much fun last night and has never been more grateful for a day off and a pot of coffee in the kitchen.  Damn you Stella...

Warning:  After a night of drinking you may have to urge to eat nothing but fatty greasy food.

Life Lessons

1.)  Although my boyfriend is getting his PhD in Developmental Biology he has no idea what he is talking about.  For a week he had all of us scared shitless that our house was infested with bed bugs. It turns out we have a nasty case of fleas and dust mites, which still sucks, but at least it is not bed bugs. The fleas are were living on the cute little fur ball below, poor Mina.

2.) Having a cute little fur ball live in your house does not guarantee that your place will not become infested with mice, especially when you live in the Mission.  FML.

Life Lessons

1.)  Beware when stacking jeans on a self-installed closet shelf.  Chances are if it looks like it is going to fall off the wall because of the amount of crap you have on it, it most likely will (and take a large chunk of the wall with it ).  See below for evidence of this new knowledge.

this hole runs across my entire closet

2.)  Living with your partner isn't all that it is cracked up to be.  It really blows when you have to share a bed with a boy who moves so much at night that he ends up hitting you in the face and giving you a black eye.

3.)  Gentle Hour by Yo La Tengo is amazing.
